Off-site SEO – A few Off-site SEO tips
Posted by admin in Off-site SEO on July 13th, 2009
1. Guest post on blogs and sites in yoru niche. It’s especially helpful if that site is at least as well-ranked as yours is and even better if it’s considered a high authority site with a better page rank from Google than your site.
2. Write articles. Write articles for article directories that let you link back to your website. Some will let you insert from two to six links that point back to various pages of yours. This can be a great approach!
3. Do link exchanges. Reciprocal linking with other sites that are in your niche could be very helpful. This can be done via blogrolling, link round-ups and similar strategies such as having several sites of your own and using them to share links to your other sites
4. Blog commenting can be a great way to get more off page rankings. By commenting on blogs who do follow you, you’ll get links pointing back to your own blog. You can also find that this can bring human traffic your way as well and commenting in a niche that is similar to or that compliments your own can help you get more subscribers
Off-site SEO – What is off-site SEO
Posted by admin in Off-site SEO on July 9th, 2009
Properly planned off-page optimization will make the difference between your website ranking
#900, and ranking #1 on Google!
So, what is offpage optimization anyway? Offpage optimization basically consists of all of the
ranking factors that are NOT located on your webpage, that the search engines look at when
ranking a website.
These include:
- Which websites link to you
- The number of websites linking to you
- The Google PR of the website linking to you
- The page title of the website linking to you
- The anchor text used in the link linking to you
- The number and type of links linking to the website that’s linking to you.
- The number of outbound links on the website that is linking to you
- The total number of links on the website that is linking to you
- Whether or not the websites linking to you are deemed by Google as an authority website.
- The IP Address of the websites linking to you.
Off-site SEO – Blogs
Posted by admin in Off-site SEO on July 9th, 2009
Very simple but yet effective strategy is blogging. Blogging is good from couple of aspects, like:
- Blogs are free to create
- There are many different blogging services to use with different and very flexible features;
- Very important – blogs are search engine friendly content management systems (CMS) that can achieve high rankings in search engines even without knowing much about technical aspects of search engine optimization.
Here are few examples on what to write blogs:
- Blogs can be used to create diary about ones progress using some enlargement method. By posting different feelings, aspects, pictures, can create an interaction with audience.
- Another solution is using MoreNiche’s content articles and using them create different niche blogs.
- Blog of course can be used as any regular website as long it allows customizing navigation, setting up categories.
What would be the blog strategy that works?
Basically the main goal is to create little blog network of 5-20 blogs that are on close topics to each other as well they should be aiming for low competition search terms. Usually it means either low searched term or also terms that are 3-4 and more words long.
Key factor in blogging is to have keyword rich content and then link it between blogs and other sites targeting these specific keywords and pages. See MoreNiche linking guide for more details.
Each blog should be updated with 1-2 posts every other day or so. Blogs should achieve 10 or more posts each.
In a month’s time it would be quite realistic to achieve 100 visitors a day and earnings of $500 to 1000$ per month. Of course, some blogs will produce better and some not. Some will achieve higher rankings some will support these with links.
Of course, also one blog can be doing well as it would be easier to create unique content and gain more links. Regarding unique content and how to create it from MoreNiche content articles – see guide on avoiding duplicate content.
Is your site indexed?

Engine Optimization – Is your website indexed?
It’s important to find out if your site is actually in a search engine or directory. Your site doesn’t come up when someone searches at Google for rodent racing? Can’t find it in the Yahoo! Directory? Have you ever thought that perhaps it simply isn’t there? In the next several sections, I explain how to find out if your site is indexed in a few different systems.
What if you’re not listed?
First, if your site is not in Yahoo! or the Open Directory Project, you have to go to those systems and register your site. See Chapter 10 for information. What if you search for your site in the search engines and can’t find it? That depends. If the site is not in Google, you have a huge problem. If it’s not in the smaller search engines, that’s less of a problem, of course, and quite common. Here are two possible reasons why your site is not being indexed in the search engines:
- The search engines haven’t found your site yet. The solution is relatively easy, though you won’t get it done in an hour.
- The search engines, whether or not they have found your site, can’t index it. This is a much bigger problem!
Get indexed fast!
Getting links on related sites is one of the keys to getting indexed quickly. Why? The search engine spiders go to some sites daily and look for fresh content. If your link is on there, guess what? It will get spidered as well. Unless you want to wait for the search engine spider to get around to you.

SEO Acronyms
Back Link – Any link on another page that points to the subject page.
Gateway Page – Also called a doorway page. A gateway page exists solely for the purpose of driving traffic to another page. They are usually designed and optimized to target one specific keyphrase. Gateway pages rarely are written for human visitors. They are written for search engines to achieve high rankings and hopefully drive traffic to the main site. Using gateway pages is a violation of the Terms Of Service of most search engines and could be grounds for banning.
Keyword/Keyphrase – Keywords are words which are used in search engine queries. Keyphrases are multi-word phrases used in search engine queries. SEO is the process of optimizing web pages for keywords and keyphrases so that they rank highly in the results returned for search queries.
Keyword Stuffing – is considered to be an unethical search engine optimization (SEO) technique. Keyword stuffing occurs when a web page is loaded with keywords in the meta tags or in content. The repetition of words in meta tags may explain why many search engines no longer use these tags. Keyword stuffing had been used in the past to obtain maximum search engine ranking

Robots.txt – The robot exclusion standard, also known as the Robots Exclusion Protocol or robots.txt protocol, is a convention to prevent cooperating web spiders and other web robots from accessing all or part of a website which is otherwise publicly viewable. Robots are often used by search engines to categorize and archive web sites, or by webmasters to proofread source code. The standard complements Sitemaps, a robot inclusion standard for websites.

What is Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization (SEO) – Creating and improving a website so that it will rank high in the search engines and help potential customers or clients find the website.
Search Engine optimization is often considered the more technical part of Web marketing. This is true because search engine optimization does help in the promotion of sites and at the same time it requires some technical knowledge – at least familiarity with basic HTML. Search engine optimization is sometimes also called SEO copyrighting because most of the techniques that are used to promote sites in search engines deal with text. Generally, search engine optimization can be defined as the activity of optimizing Web pages or whole sites in order to make them more search engine-friendly, thus getting higher positions in search results.
Although engine optimization helps to increase the traffic to one’s site, engine optimization is not advertising. Of course, you can be included in paid search results for given keywords but basically the idea behind the engine optimization techniques is to get top placement because your site is relevant to a particular search term, not because you pay.
Don’t wait to long to implement SEO techniques
